Are you not-for-profit?

Yes, the Institute on Religious Deathcare and Spiritual Healing, Inc. believes that deathcare is a spiritual act and, therefore, should be non-profit.

What does the Institute mean by "spiritual healing?"

The Institute believes deathcare ought to foster spiritual healing for the bereaved. Death rituals ought to express healthy, closure-seeking behaviors, words, song, or prayer. The Institute believes all deathcare is a ritual, from the moment of death to interment, and participants responsible for handling the decedent ought to adhere to scrupulous ethics, protecting the autonomy and personhood of the dead. Spiritual healing, therefore, occurs when deathcare is done with compassion, mercy, and love.

Who supports The Institute on Religious Deathcare and Spiritual Healing?

Clergy, congregations, individuals, and other spiritual organizations throughout the country.

Where does my donation go?
